![]() Due to her unpleasant experiences in the human world, she believes that Sōsuke has kidnapped her and that she is in grave danger, so Fujimoto summons spirits from the ocean to retrieve her. Meanwhile, a desperate Fujimoto frantically searches for his missing daughter. Sōsuke believes that Brunhilda is simply a fish and takes great affection for her, as well as naming her “Ponyo” (ポ ニ ョ) and promising to protect her forever. Brunhilda licks her wound, which heals almost instantly much to Sōsuke’s surprise. The little boy finds it difficult to get it out of the jar, so he decides to break it with a rock, accidentally cutting his finger. The jar reaches the shore of a small fishing village, where it is found and rescued by a five-year-old boy named Sōsuke. After being dragged by a fishing net, Brunhilda ends up trapped in a glass jar. ![]() ![]() One day, while Fujimoto and his daughters are on an excursion in their submarine, Brunhilda slips out of her father’s sight and swims away on a jellyfish. Fujimoto, a once human sorcerer and scientist, lives under the sea surface with his daughter, Brunhilda, and her many sisters. ![]()
